Firehose #166: 💨 Breather. 💨

I need a bit of a break, so I am not sending a newsletter this week. I may skip the next several. The current environment is exhausting both personally and professionally, so I am trying to prioritize the limited bandwidth I have for things that are both urgent and important.

I also suspect you’re inundated with content related to COVID-19 at the moment. I personally can’t think of much else to write about. In the past few weeks, I’ve seen open rates and click-through-rates trail off slightly, implying that folks have other things on their minds right now — which I totally get.

When I started writing Drinking from the Firehose 4+ years ago, my goal was to distill insight from an onslaught of information across the areas I follow closely. Epidemiology is not one of them. When those areas start to come back to the forefront of the discussion, and when I have time to write, I will be sure to send something out.

In short, I will be back in your inbox soon. Just taking a much needed breather for now. Thanks for understanding.
